Acupuncture and IVF: Acupuncture can triple the likelihood of pregnancy

Can your chance of pregnancy using in-vitro fertilization (IVF) be increased by acupuncture? This article thinks so. According to a study at the University IVF center, women who received a specific acupuncture regimen achieved pregnancy 64.7% of the time, whereas those without acupuncture achieved pregnancy 42.5% of the time.

It is a well known fact that starting a family is stressful and that the added stress of infertility can be overwhelming. According to this study, women who received acupuncture before and after embryo transfer reported lower stress rates and demonstrated increased birthrates.

The take home message is that trying to get pregnant is a very stressful process.
